
Judge Blair Edwards of the 21st Judicial District Court announced that she is seeking a seat on the State’s First Circuit Court of Appeal.
Edwards is running in the October 2024 election to replace retiring Judge Wayne “Ray” Chutz in the Third District, Division A, which covers St. Tammany, Washington, Tangipahoa, Livingston, St. Helena, West Feliciana, and East Feliciana Parishes.
Elected in 2008, Edwards currently serves as Chief Judge to the 21st Judicial District Court, which covers Tangipahoa, Livingston, and St. Helena Parishes. She is a graduate of the Loyola School of Law and a graduate of Nicholls State University in accounting. She is also a graduate of the University of Nevada Judicial College and a fellow of the Early Childhood Policy Leader Institute, certified A.C.E (Adverse Childhood Experience) trainer, and certified TBRI (Trust Base Relations Intervention) Practitioner. A native of Amite, she is married to Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards. They have five children, six grandchildren and attend the First United Methodist Church of Amite.
