On Monday near downtown Baton Rouge traffic and parking might be a challenge.
Gov.-elect Jeff Landry will be sworn in as Louisiana’s 57th governor, and other state officials and legislators will take their oaths of office.
More than 100 legislators will be sworn in at a 10 a.m. ceremony in the State Capitol, while Landry will be sworn in and give an inaugural address at 11:30 a.m.
An inaugural ball will be held later that night at the Raising Cane’s River Center.
During the ceremony, North 4th Street will be closed from North Street to Spanish Town Road. Spanish Town Road will also be closed from North 3rd Street to North 5th Street.
For those wishing to attend the inauguration, the state is providing 4,200 free, first-come, first-serve parking spots at three local parking garages.
