A Slidell-area man has been arrested on an attempted murder charge following a stabbing incident which occurred Saturday morning at a Slidell-area hotel.
Shortly before noon, St. Tammany Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a hotel in 5800 block of Yaupon Drive in reference to a stabbing. Through their investigation, detectives with the STPSO Major Crimes Unit learned two individuals became engaged in an altercation which resulted in one man sustaining numerous stab wounds. That man was transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.
The other individual, Tyrus Prescott of Slidell, was taken into custody and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center for one count each of Attempted Second-degree Murder and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
