
Slidell Police, in partnership with the F.B.I., made an arrest in Thursday afternoon’s bank robbery, at Bank Plus on Gause.
Around 11:30 am on Thursday Slidell Police responded to Bank Plus in reference to a bank robbery.
The suspect had fled the area.
This led to an extensive investigation, led by Slidell Police detectives, in partnership with the F.B.I. New Orleans field office. By utilizing a wide range of surveillance videos from around the area, as well as other investigative tools, investigators were able to track down the bank robber in less than 24-hours.
The suspect has been identified as 49 YO Herbert Earl Davis, who was residing at an address on Markham Drive in Slidell. Davis, who is a convicted felon and had an extensive violent criminal history, was taken into custody, during a traffic stop.
Davis initially tried to elude officers by driving recklessly through a neighborhood, but was quickly located and apprehended.
Detectives conducted several search warrants and recovered evidence that linked Davis to the bank robbery.
