Shortly after 3:00 a.m. Saturday Troopers from State Police Troop L began investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash on Interstate 12 near LA Hwy 445 in Tangipahoa Parish.
The crash claimed the life of 25 YO Jesse Hester of Hammond.
The initial investigation revealed that a 2022 Harley-Davidson, driven by Hester, was westbound in the left eastbound lane of I-12. At the same time, a 2008 Toyota Camry was eastbound in the left eastbound lane of I-12. The Harley-Davidson impacted the Toyota and despite wearing a DOT-approved helmet, Hester sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash.
He was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The driver of the Toyota was properly restrained and was uninjured.
As part of the ongoing investigation, routine toxicology samples were obtained from both drivers for analysis.
