Jimmy Travis, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief of Operations and a former candidate for Sheriff, has endorsed Chris Gideon in the run-off.
In a statement released Thursday, Travis said Gideon had dedicated his life to serving Tangipahoa Parish.
Travis said he received calls from both Gideon and Gerald Sticker, the two candidates heading into a Nov. 18 run-off for the post, but Travis maintained that he did not speak to either candidate, choosing instead to make the decision to endorse a candidate independently.
