The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for information on a suspect of theft by fraud.
Sheriff Daniel Edwards says on September 25 a male using the name of Raymond Stokes conducted an over-the-phone purchase of an outboard motor from Boat City USA, valued at over $14,000. Later that day, a male entered the business and completed the purchasing paperwork for the motor.
Boat City USA later learned the purchase was fraudulent after being contacted by the credit card company.
