DA Warren Montgomery says a Washington Parish grand jury indicted 51 YO David Huey Rester, Jr. of Bogalusa of the 1st degree murder of Marl Wayne Smith.
Smith was shot at the Pub Lounge in Bogalusa on March 2, 2022.
Rester was a past law enforcement officer in the state of Mississippi.
Detective Corbet Hunt and Captain Raymond Myers of the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office investigated the case. Assistant District Attorney Ronnie Gracianette presented the case to the Grand Jury.
