The Slidell Police Narcotics Division, in conjunction with the New Orleans F.B.I. Gang Task Force (N.O.G.T.F.) and the New Orleans Police Department Seventh District, have made another substantial drug and weapons bust, taking two more violent drug dealers off the street.
In early August, Slidell Police began investigating an individual believed to be distributing fentanyl in the Slidell and New Orleans area.
Three separate residential search warrants were executed, one in Slidell, and the other two in the New Orleans area. All three search warrants were executed simultaneously.
During the search warrants, four firearms, body armor, a large amount of fentanyl, marijuana, crack cocaine, Xanax and heroin were located. Two of the firearms, one being an AK-47 rifle with a high-capacity magazine, were found to be reported as stolen through the Baton Rouge Police Department.
Thus far, two arrests have been made, with more arrests pending. Due to an on-going investigation, the names of the arrested subjects are being withheld.
Slidell Police Chief Randy Fandal said we will continue to use all resources available to keep Slidell a safe place to live.
