A ground breaking is planned on the $3.5 million meeting room expansion at the Harbor Center in Slidell.
The ceremony will be held at the expansion site on Friday, August 11, at 10 am followed by a reception.
Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser, local government officials, the Harbor Center Board and other community leaders will be among those who will participate.
The Harbor Center Board of Commissioners awarded the self-funded contract to Voelkel McWilliams Construction, LLC at their June 1st meeting. The meeting room expansion will feature 9,000 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting and pre-function space.
