In Pearl River Mayor Lee gave an update on a few of the projects that the town has been working on.
He said the Street Department has been making steady progress on the flower bed that is being built in front of Town Hall. This flower bed is being built in order to close off access to Willis Alley from Spur 41 and Church St. This work is an effort to make the intersection more safe based on advice from traffic engineers who were hired to study it.
When completed, citizens will use Willis Alley as an entrance to Town Hall/Police Department from Hwy 3081.
The town is doing the work themselves instead of hiring a contractor in an effort to save the town money.
The Mayor also wanted to announce that Phase 1 of the park renovation is complete. The town still has more equipment on order and that equipment should be delivered and installed over the next few months.
Mayor Lee would like to thank the residents for their patience as we work to get these projects completed.
