The St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting which occurred late Sunday night in the Madisonville area.
Shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to a report of gunshots in the area of Perrilloux Road and Highway 22 near Madisonville. At that time, deputies were unable to locate anyone in the area.
Approximately 30 minutes later, deputies were contacted by personnel at a local hospital in reference to two subjects arriving with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
Investigators worked through the night and into the early morning collecting evidence and are still in the process of conducting interviews.
At this time, it appears the victims and perpetrators are known to each other and the shooting was a targeted attack.
