The St Tammany Chamber says they sent a 10 question survey to their members to get input on local issues and elections that impact their quality of life.
Although not a statistically accurate survey, some of what they learned is that the number one concern of 75% of respondents was the increase in homeowners insurance. 68% were concerned about infrastructure, including roads and drainage; 39% distrusted the government; and 38% believe there was a need for more affordable housing. 90% reported that the widening of I-12 between Highway 59 and Highway 21 positively impacted their quality of life.
The chamber called the report an effort to educate and hopefully increase voter turnout, which has been an ongoing concern in recent elections.
