Shortly before 6 pm yesterday, Slidell Police were conducting an investigation and attempted to stop an orange Dodge Charger near Highway 11 and I-12.
The suspect vehicle failed to stop and fled from officers.
The pursuit led into Lacombe on Highway 190W.
During the pursuit, a Slidell Police officer conducted an evasive maneuver in order to avoid striking another vehicle. In doing so, the officer overturned his police unit into a ditch and struck a culvert.
The suspect vehicle got away, but investigators have promising leads on the identity of the driver.
The officer was transported to Lakeview Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
