Effective today, Dr. William Wainwright will assume the role of President of Southeastern Louisiana University.
President Crain said in an email sent to staff last week that he wishes Wainwright and his wife Misty the very best as they begin a new journey.
Crain officially retired from Southeastern as of June 4. Crain said Southeastern has been a remarkable place for him, from his start as a student over 40 years ago, where he earned two degrees, progressed through the ranks as a faculty member, and served in multiple administrative roles, all culminating with his time as President.
Crain offered thanks again to all campus and community members who reached out with kind words and well wishes for his upcoming retirement.
