St. Tammany Coroner Dr. Charles Preston has positively identified the people found dead in a home near Slidell Saturday morning.
31 YO Angel Smith and 31 YO Rico Keller were found dead at a residence in the 1300 block of Belair Blvd., north of Slidell.
The incident appears to be a murder-suicide, but the Sheriff’s Office is still investigating, and autopsies will be conducted on Monday, so those findings are preliminary.
Detectives with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office said shortly before 9:30 a.m. Saturday, STPSO deputies went to a house near Slidell after a child called 911 to report he found his parents unresponsive and bleeding. Responding deputies located a male and female deceased inside a bedroom at the residence.
A firearm was located nearby.
Also inside the home were two of the estranged couple’s children.
The St Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office took possession of the bodies, and the Department of Children and Family Services were called in reference to the children.
