The Hammond Fire Department says last night at approximately 9:34 pm firefighters were dispatched to an automatic fire alarm at Community Motors of Hammond.
Upon arrival firefighters found heavy smoke and fire coming from the building.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze.
Mutual aid was called for from Ponchatoula VFD and Natalbany VFD.
No injuries were reported at the time.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
