Around 4 p.m., on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, deputies with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Hwy 16 in French Settlement in reference to a shot fired.
Sheriff Jason Ard said upon arrival, deputies located a wounded male.
First Responders transported that male to a local hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound where his status was listed as critical but stable at that time.
LPSO has one person in custody.
Sheriff Ard said during the investigation, LPSO was also alerted to possible shots fired calls at other locations in the Springfield area. No injuries were reported. He believes the suspect in custody can be tied to all of the reported incidents.
