The Hammond Police Department would like to warn the public of recent scams that detectives are investigating.
Scammers are using companies such as Amazon, Amazon Prime, IRS, Publisher’s Clearing House and Entergy to lure people in. Their emails have “click here” links to reconnect you to an unsecured browser, where they ask you to make payments using gift cards.
Please do not make any payments with these companies using gift cards.
