Celebrate the start of spring with “Swingtime In Springtime,” an evening of local jazz music featuring the outstanding talents of Wendell Brunious, Jason Marsalis, Richard Moten, Dr. Ben Redwine and Don Vappie.
The concert, presented by The Northshore Traditional Music Society and made possible in part by a grant from the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation, Inc., will take place 7 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 2023 at The Greater Covington Center Fuhrmann Auditorium in Covington.
Tickets are $20 for general admission and $35 for VIP seating. Student and educator tickets are free of charge with a limit of two tickets per order. Tickets are available at https://bontempstix.com.
In addition to the concert, the musicians will hold a free preconcert lecture / master class at 5 p.m. for high school and college music students only. In their combined dedication to further advance the future of musical talent in the region, the musicians also are devoting time to local high school and college music students by offering the lecture / masterclass before the concert. Students who attend will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hear from and learn about the history of jazz from the artists themselves.
