Amite Police says on March 2, they received a complaint regarding juveniles throwing rocks at vehicles on Hwy 51 near Shady Grove Loop which caused damages to the vehicles.
During their investigation Detectives and officers were able to interview four juvenile suspects. Two of the juveniles admitted to throwing rocks at passing vehicles. The two juveniles were arrested and charged with Criminal Damage to property.
The same four juveniles were also suspects in another case of trespassing at a residence on North Duncan Avenue, that occurred on February 21, 2023. All four juveniles were arrested and charged with 2 counts of Criminal Trespass.
Two of the four juveniles were suspects in a vehicle burglary that occurred on North Duncan Avenue on February 20, 2023. Those two juveniles were arrested and charged with Simple Burglary.
In total four juveniles were arrested; their ages range from 12 to 14.
The juveniles have now been referred to 21St Judicial Juvenile Court.
State Law prohibits releasing a juvenile’s name.
