Slidell Police said they arrested the man responsible for a double homicide this weekend.
He is facing two counts of First-Degree Homicide, and one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, for the murder of two Slidell men.
Slidell Police detectives identified 41 YO Mario Andre Scott of Slidell as the person responsible for shooting and killing two men.
Shortly after the shooting, Scott fled the Slidell area, but was later located in Jefferson Parish. With the assistance of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and the F.B.I. Gang Task Force, Scott was taken into custody without incident.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the two victims, who were brothers, confronted Scott about an earlier confrontation with their father. Scott open fire on the two brothers and shot them to death.
The victims have been identified as Miguel Doucette and Kerry Doucette.
Slidell Police Chief Randy Fandal called it a senseless tragedy that never should have happened, and hopefully, the victims’ family can find some peace knowing this killer is off the streets and behind bars.
