Southeastern Louisiana University has been battling a campus-wide internet outage that continued as of last night.
Last night Southeastern reported that campus operations will continue as usual even though some systems may not be fully returned to service. Faculty will be working with students to minimize the effect of the disruption as systems are restored. Even the Southeastern.edu website was impacted as students prepared for midterms in the coming days. Students have not been able to complete their assignments and residential students in technology-run dorms had limited access.
The outage also impacted sporting events on campus over the weekend as tickets could not be scanned.
The outage could impede other campus activities. The LHSAA announced the outage would affect Marsh Madness, the girls’ basketball state championship. The tournament is being held in the University Center from Monday, Feb. 27 through Saturday, March 4. The outage might be fixed, but the LHSAA strongly recommends not purchasing online tickets. If a ticket was already purchased through the Southeastern/LHSAA website, it can be redeemed. If one would like to purchase a ticket and has not already done so, they will be accepting cash only.
