Mandeville Chief of Police Todd Schliem said the city’s crime stats are now posted on the city’s website.
He said crime numbers are holding steady and are even trending down in a few key categories. In 2022, Mandeville Police received 13,262 calls for service.
The leading complaint they got from the public was usually associated with traffic. Although traffic in the area continues to increase, he said traffic accidents in the city hit a five year low. Residential burglaries and auto thefts were also near five years lows, while business burglaries were at a three year low.
The Chief thanked Mayor Madden and the City Council for their support of the police department. He said Mandeville PD is doing everything in their power to deter crime and hold those who choose to ignore the law accountable for their actions.
