Hammond High’s Torbotics program is preparing for their 17th competition season, and they are looking for sponsors to help them travel to regionals in Peoria, Illinois.
The 2023 robot engineering team will travel to Peoria March 14-18 to compete.
36 students have been chosen to travel to the qualifying competition next month, making it their largest team yet.
It will cost approximately $20,000 to register, travel, feed and lodge the students for the competition. The team has been holding fundraisers to help offset the cost. With less than one month to go, they are about halfway to their goal.
Any local residents or businesses who would like to support this team can mail or drop off a check to Hammond High Magnet School with the words “Torbotics 2080” in the memo line. The team can also receive donations via the Venmo app using the “@frcteam2080” recipient name. If using Venmo, the school asks that you include your name and email address with the donation.
For more info, contact the Torbotics at (985) 474-8622.
