Today the Tangipahoa Parish School System will celebrate “green out day” in honor of Amite High alumnus and Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith, who is playing in his first Super Bowl game this Sunday.
If successful, the wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles could be the latest in a group of elite NFL players who hold a NCAA National Championship Ring, a Heisman Trophy, and a Super Bowl title.
TPSS students may wear green tops or Eagles shirts with their uniform bottoms this Friday in honor of him.
