The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly shooting that occurred in Chalmette on Sunday.
22 YO Frankie Morello is accused of shooting and killing someone in his home at the 400 block of East Solidelle Street.
Deputies reported that when they arrived at the house, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Bureau determined the victim was shot while Morello was handling a weapon he assumed was not loaded.
Morello will be charged with negligent homicide and was transported to the St. Bernard Parish Prison.
