Slidell Police is reminding citizens that this weekend there are FOUR parades rolling through Slidell.
Kicking off Slidell’s Carnival Season will be the Mystic Krewe of Titans, which rolls tonight at 6:30 PM. On Saturday, February 4th, the Krewe of Bilge Boat Parade rolls at 12PM and later that night, the Krewe of Poseidon will roll at 6PM. On Sunday, February 5th, Slidell’s newest parade, Krewe of Antheia will make their way through the streets of Slidell, starting at 1PM.
Slidell PD says they hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend bringing in the Mardi Gras season. They remind everyone that parking along the parade route is the number 1 complaint each year and parking rules are posted on their social media.
They also added that they have been made aware of multiple rumors about a shooting at Walmart on Pontchartrain Drive. They wanted to clarify that a shooting DID NOT occur at the Walmart on Pontchartrain Drive. On Wednesday afternoon, an altercation between multiple subjects did occur but the incident was quickly resolved by Slidell Police Officers.
