
TPSO showcased their 2022 “Deputy of the Year” award recipients this week.
This award recognizes outstanding contributions to law enforcement and exceptional service to the community.
This year, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office recognized two deputies. Lieutenant Corey Michelli and K9 Thor were presented with the award by board members of Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa. Michelli has been a member of the TPSO since 1998. Recently, Michelli and Thor placed 3rd in “Overall Best Team” at the National United States Police Canine Association Trials. This award is sponsored by First Guaranty Bank.
Detective Ricky Malbrough was presented with the award at the annual Hammond City Club’s Law Enforcement Banquet. Malbrough received this award for his significant positive presence, exemplary performance in his duties, and unwavering commitment to the department and to the residents of the parish. Malbrough has been with the sheriff’s office since 2017 and is recognized for his commitment to Law Enforcement that positively affects our community. This award was sponsored by the Hammond City Club.
