Bogalusa Police say on Friday just before midnight, officers came into contact with 21 YO Chas Smith, who was known to have multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest in connection with two shootings that occurred in Bogalusa in the summer of 2022.
Detectives sought and obtained an arrest warrant for Smith in connection with the shooting death of 14 YO Landan Williams, which occurred on June 26, 2022, around 9:30 pm, in the 1600 block of Main Street.
Detectives also sought arrest warrants for Smith, with his connection to a shooting that occurred on July 27, 2022, around 1130 pm, in the 1100 block of West 7th Street. Neither of the two victims were hit in the shooting on West 7th street, however, there was property damage.
Smith was apprehended without incident and booked into the Bogalusa City Jail on Multiple Warrants.
Smith was later transferred to the Parish jail in Franklinton, pending a bond hearing.
