
On January 10, 2023, the Hammond Police Department Street Crimes Unit was attempting to locate a known wanted fugitive in Hammond.
Officers arrived at the address listed for 28 YO Arthur Robinson of Hammond, and attempted to make contact with him.
Officers immediately observed a male subject attempt to flee out the back window of the residence, but as he spotted officers, he ducked back into the residence.
After some time with no response, officers obtained a search warrant. The HPD SWAT Team was then activated due to the prior criminal history of Robinson and severity of the active outstanding warrants. Negotiations were conducted, and Robinson exited the residence and was taken into custody without any further incident.
After a further search of the residence, officers located a firearm inside Robinson’s bedroom. Robinson was booked into Hammond City Jail on felony warrants for armed robbery, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and theft of a motor vehicle. Robinson was additionally charged on a new count of convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
