Louisiana AG Jeff Landry issued a statement after obtaining an admission of guilt by 47 YO Dennis Perkins to second degree rape, sexual battery of a child, video voyeurism, and other charges.
Landry said Perkins admitted to his despicable crimes and pled guilty in court. He said he not only waived any right to appeal, probation, or parole and any attempt to avoid conviction; but also spared the victims from reliving his horrific crimes during trial.
21st Judicial District Court Judge Erika Sledge sentenced Perkins to 100 years of hard labor.
The case involving the former Livingston Parish deputy stunned the community when details first emerged in 2019.
