Yesterday’s joint funeral service for Sergeant Steven Robin and Officer Branden Estorffe was followed by a procession from the Bay St. Louis Community Center at about 1:30 p.m.
Local Northshore police officers were among that that showed up in support, along with thousands of citizens along the route.
Several electric companies strategically parked their bucket trucks along Highway 90 to hang large American flags overhead.
The two fallen officers were escorted to their final resting place, Garden of Memory Cemetery. The procession lasted thirty minutes and consisted of law enforcement officers from across Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama and more.
Meanwhile, Amy Anderson is the woman who shot and killed two police officers who came to check on her at a Bay St Louis motel. Now WLOX in Biloxi is reporting about the still unanswered questions involving Amy Anderson at that motel with her small child and a gun. Through a Freedom of Information Act request, WLOX learned of multiple calls to Ocean Springs police from Anderson’s family worried about her and her children and what she might do.
Ocean Springs Police records show four calls and incidents about Anderson on Dec. 13 and 14, three of them just hours before the deadly shooting. On Dec. 13 at 3:28 p.m., the records show Anderson’s mother called with a welfare concern, telling police Amy Anderson was out of control and under the influence of narcotics. The mother said there was a loaded weapon inside the home. A few hours later at 7:45 p.m., Amy showed up at the Ocean Springs Police Department claiming a man is harassing her. At 12:15 a.m., just four hours before the deadly shootout, a family member called and said Amy was wandering around her house convinced the mafia changed her locks. Police say that information was relayed by her child. At 12:21 a.m., Ocean Springs Police arrive at her home, but no one was there.
Anderson checked into the Bay St. Louis Motel 6 at 2:30 a.m. By 3:35 a.m., Anderson asked the front desk manager to call 911.
Four minutes later, Sgt. Steven Robin and Officer Branden Estorffe arrived and met with Anderson in her motel room.
