In Livingston Parish 39 YO Amanda Carter was processed into the Livingston Parish Detention Center on twenty counts of interception and disclosure of wire, electronic or oral communication, a felony offense.
Sheriff Jason Ard said one of the LPSO School Resource Officers was contacted by Livingston Parish school leaders after a recording device was discovered on a high school property.
During their investigation, it was revealed that multiple recording devices were discovered over the school year.
These devices recorded conversations and some of those conversations were shared, posted or edited without consent of those in the conversations in that school setting. Ard said LPSO received multiple complaints as some of the recordings involved juveniles.
Ard said Carter has filed complaints with LPSO, too. Those allegations are against school officials claiming neglect and theft. He said some of those claims have been unfounded and some are still being investigated. Ard concluded by saying they were limited in what they could share as this is a sensitive case involving juveniles.
Carter turned herself in, she was processed and has since bonded out.
That bond was set at $15,000.
