St. Tammany Parish Government has received an additional 3,000 Narcan nasal spray kits to be provided free of charge to St. Tammany Parish citizens.
The Narcan kits were acquired through the Department of Justice’s Comprehensive Opioid and Substance Abuse Site-based program, which provided federal funding to the Parish.
Parish President Mike Cooper said he was proud of the hard work of the employees, who not only helped bring tax dollars back to St. Tammany, but also ensured that critical opioid overdose treatments would be readily available to potentially save the lives of neighbors and loved ones.
Following several requests from various local agencies, the Narcan kits, each containing two (2) doses of 4mg nasal spray, will be distributed to the Fire Districts, Coroner’s Office and any citizen at no cost.

In 2021, St. Tammany Parish Government acquired nearly 2,000 Narcan spray kits, which were distributed by local agencies in conjunction with the Save a Life – Carry Narcan campaign.
