
Early on November 7th the Covington Police Department, with assistance from the United States Marshals Service, conducted search and arrest warrants at numerous residences in the Covington area related to the shooting that occurred outside the St. Tammany Parish Fair on October 1st.
During the search, five firearms, ammunition, and a large number of narcotics were seized from these residences, and three suspects were arrested.
Facing Attempted Second-Degree Murder and many other charges are Artreal McDowell, Jonathan Bagent, and Anthony Ford Jr.
During the investigation, Jonah Garrett was arrested for charges unrelated to the shooting incident including Illegal Possession of Stolen Firearms and Possession of Schedule I Marijuana.
The Covington Police Department thanked the members of the community for coming forward and providing valuable information in relation to this investigation. They thanked the United States Marshal’s Service for their assistance in the apprehension of these individuals. And Chief Ferrell said he was extremely proud of the Criminal Investigations Division for working tirelessly on this incident from the time it occurred.
