
Tangipahoa Registrar of Voters Andi Matheu reported that the early voting week for the November 8, 2022 election was a busy one.
Over 1,200 citizens voted early in Amite and over 5,100 people did so in the Hammond location.
To date, 8,965 voters have cast their ballots for this election. That is over an 11% turn out before Election Day. Don’t forget to check your ballot ahead of time before you go to the polls to verify your ballot and districts. Visit www.TangiVotes.com to see yours.
If you received a mail ballot, your deadline to return it to the Registrar of Voters office is 4:30 PM on Monday, 11/07/2022. Make sure and keep up with the results as they roll in on election night by using the GeauxVote app or website.
Meanwhile 362,000 Louisiana residents cast their ballots for the November 8 election during the early voting period, which ended Tuesday night. According to data from the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office 272,199 people early voted in-person and 90,730 people absentee voted. That brings in a grand total of 362,929 votes. In 2018 the early voting and absentee ballot total was 307,300.
Polls will be open on Tuesday, November 8 from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Election Day. When you go to the polls to cast your vote in an election, be sure to have a driver’s license, or a Louisiana Special ID, or a LA Wallet digital driver’s license or a United States military identification card that contains your name and picture.
