Entergy New Orleans will end its shutoff moratorium starting Nov. 1.
Disconnections were halted over the summer to offer relief to customers struggling to pay skyrocketing bills.
Entergy New Orleans blamed the higher bills on a combination of hot temperatures and rising natural gas prices.
Customers with past due balances should contact the utility company immediately and not wait until the shutoff moratorium is over. One official said there are things they can work with customers on, but they have to reach out so Entergy can understand their personal situation and then do what they can to help.
Entergy New Orleans can be reached by phone at 1-800-Entergy.
