Just after 2:00 AM yesterday, deputies with the LPSO were dispatched to Friendship Road regarding a burglary in progress.
Sheriff Jason Ard said the homeowners were sleeping when several popping noises under their carport area startled them awake.
They learned an armed female gained entry to their home by breaking their back door window.
The homeowner was legally armed inside the residence and fired at the suspect who was inside without permission. The suspect was hit twice – in the leg & hip areas.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
She will be processed into the Livingston Parish Detention center and has been identified as 23 YO Paige Clark of Walker.
