Southeastern continues to announce their 2022 Alumni Award honorees, including Mr. Saul Rubio as this year’s Friendship Oak Award recipient.
Mr. Rubio is the president and CEO of Rubio Enterprises.
Saul Rubio emigrated to the United States from his hometown of Queretaro, Mexico, at the age of 24. Upon arriving, he spent several years working numerous jobs, from cleaning houses in LA to working construction in Miami.
In 1998, Saul planted his roots in Hammond, where he opened his first restaurant, La Carreta. Ever since, Saul has enjoyed creating opportunities for others through employment and education. One of the ways he has done this is by partnering with Southeastern Louisiana University to sponsor the Young Hispanic Leadership Program.
Mr. Rubio will be honored at the annual Alumni Awards Evening on October 7.
Tickets are available at southeastern.edu/alumniawards.
