The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a Red Flag Warning for critical fire weather conditions, which is in effect from 9 AM to 7 PM Tuesday.
A Fire Weather Watch has also been issued.
This Fire Weather Watch for critical fire weather conditions is in effect from Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening. Winds will be Northeast 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph while humidity is approaching 25 percent.
Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
This warning affects all of southeast Louisiana and coastal Mississippi.
