
On September 9, at approximately 2:15 AM, officers of the Hammond Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the area of North Oak and West Robert Streets.
One vehicle had bullet holes.
No people were injured.
HPD Officers who were working in the area arrived almost immediately.
Officers viewed shots being exchanged by two groups of people who began to flee in separate vehicles. One vehicle was stopped by HPD, and four subjects were detained. The second vehicle was stopped by the Louisiana State Police. Officers detained four more subjects. Six weapons and some meth were recovered.
Arrested and facing numerous charges were: 20 YO Cameron Lee, 22 YO Damain Barnes, 29 YO Sinadra Coleman, and 26 YO Kevin Coleman, all from Kentwood. Also charged were 21 YO Jaquan Muse of Ponchatoula, 23 YO Gregory Cook of Hammond, a 15 YO juvenile from Hammond, and a 16-YO juvenile from Ponchatoula.
