Sheriff Ard with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office said just after 3 pm yesterday, LPSO was contacted by a representative with the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office requesting additional units to aid in making an arrest near a fast-food location in the Albany area.
The suspect was identified as Steven McCarthy, who faced multiple drug warrants.
Prior to LPSOs arrival, McCarthy fled west from Albany. As the pursuit made its way onto I-12 westbound, the suspect crashed into the back of another civilian’s vehicle near the Frost exit. That vehicle’s driver sustained minor injuries.
McCarthy was taken into LPSO custody with no injuries and additional charges have been added to those he already faced.
The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office says an acquaintance of McCarthy was also arrested. Authorities say Bridgette Hull and McCarthy were in the middle of a drug transaction before McCarthy sped away from the fast-food restaurant.
