
St. Bernard Parish officials have been working diligently with various organizations to ensure those affected by the Arabi tornado have options for assistance.
Several programs have deadlines that are rapidly approaching, so it is encouraged to apply as soon as possible. The Community Services Block Grant Program (CSBG) is open to residents affected within a certain income range.
Applications close on September 30th.
Assistance includes: 6 months back pay for rent, Utility deposits, School supplies, and Furniture lost. The Louisiana Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) is open to residents affected within a certain income range.
Applications close on September 30th.
This is primarily rental assistance for those displaced.
The State Discretionary Tornado Assistance is open to residents affected (no income restrictions). Applications close 2023 and it is similar assistance to CSBG program.
The Louisiana Homeowner Assistance Fund CSBG Tornado Victims is open to homeowners affected with up to $25,000 in mortgage assistance.
Applications close 2023.
The Greater New Orleans Foundation Tornado Assistance Program is now open to both homeowners and businesses affected.
Round 2 of applications will close on September 15th.
The Sankofa Grant is open to owners of property affected by the tornado with a $500 grant in the form of a gift card. Applications are open and based on funding availability.
