Covington Police say they found a major drug selling suspect hiding in a drainage ditch.
Residents of the Ozone and Covington Point communities may have noticed a large police presence in their neighborhoods yesterday.
Covington’s Criminal Investigations Division and Criminal Patrol Division say they arrested a major fentanyl and heroin dealer in 34 YO Jovan Williams. He was arrested yesterday in the Covington Point neighborhood after evading officers for more than three weeks.
Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is up to 50 times stronger than heroin and up to 100 times stronger than morphine. Covington Police officers are frequently finding this drug on the streets and at the scenes of overdoses. They said the amount of suspected fentanyl that Williams has been charged with is lethal enough to kill approximately 80,000 people, with an approximate street value of $70,000.
