Chief Lendrick Francois says the Amite City Police Department responded to Dollar General located at 403 NW Central Ave in reference to a business burglary.
Officers observed a broken window which the suspect used to gain entry into the business.
A description of the suspect was obtained by officers.
Officers were able to locate a subject matching the description at a residence in the 300 block of N. Second St.
The subject was identified as Alvin Bellazen. Officers checked the residence where stolen merchandise from Dollar General was found. It was also learned that Bellazen had made unlawful entry into the residence as well.
Bellazen was then arrested for the charges of Simple Burglary and Simple Burglary of an inhabited dwelling.
