
Following a hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the ATHENA Leadership Award® is returning to St. Tammany, with a nomination submission deadline of Wednesday, Sept. 7.
Every October, the award is presented to an individual who lives or works in St. Tammany Parish in recognition of exemplary leadership.
The international award is sponsored by Slidell Memorial Hospital and Ochsner, with the recipient to be announced at a special luncheon in October.
Nominees must demonstrate excellence, creativity and initiative in his or her business or profession; provide valuable service to improve the quality of life for others in the community; actively assist women in achieving their full leadership potential; and personify all eight of the tenets of the ATHENA Leadership Model: Authentic Self, Relationships, Giving Back, Collaboration, Courageous Acts, Learning, Fierce Advocacy, Celebration and Joy.

Nominees will be invited to join past ATHENA recipients at a private reception to be held in Slidell on Tuesday, September 13 at 6 pm.
All of the nominees will be honored and the 2022 recipient will be announced at a luncheon hosted by the Steel Mimosas and St. Tammany Athenians on Wednesday, October 19.
Reservations for the luncheon can be submitted via the Steel Mimosas website at steelmimosas.com no later than 11 am on Friday, October 14.
