
Jyrion Dangerfield’s family continues looking for answers regarding his death, days after police found his body inside his car parked in Covington.
The 20 YO Dangerfield, from Hammond, was preparing for his third year of online coursework at Southern University, where he was studying software engineering.
Covington police haven’t released many details in the case, but the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest and the St. Tammany Coroner’s Office ruled that Dangerfield’s death a homicide.
Dangerfield’s body was found Monday inside his vehicle parked at an athletic field in Covington.
Dangerfield was a 2020 graduate of Hammond’s St. Thomas Aquinas High School, where he played on the football team. He was last seen on Sunday when he left home for a job moving furniture. He was supposed to arrive at 11 a.m. but never made it, according to family members.
