On Tuesday, July 26, 2022, in the early morning hours, officers with the Covington Police Department were patrolling the Covington Recreation Department and found a vehicle with a deceased subject inside.
An autopsy was performed by the St Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office and the cause of death was ruled a homicide.
The deceased was identified as 20 YO Jyrion Dangerfield of Hammond.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office was asking the public’s assistance in locating Dangerfield, who was last seen during the early morning hours of Sunday July 24, 2022.
According to family, Dangerfield left to go to work and never returned home. The family says he would’ve been a junior at Southern University this coming fall.
