Nunez Community College will offer two drone classes at its Chalmette campus starting in August.
The $350 courses will prepare students for the FAA’s Part 107 certified drone pilot license exam while learning to fly two different drones: the DJI Mavic 3 and the LaTrax Alias.
The first class will meet on Tuesday evenings from 5:30-8:30 p.m. from Aug. 16-Oct. 4. The second class will meet on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. from Aug. 20-Oct. 8.
Registration for both classes is open now at Nunez.edu/STEAM.
STEAM Director Julie Rexford said the drone classes are already filling quickly, but more classes are likely to follow shortly to help students add another job skill.
